Oakville artist Kamil Swiatek will be painting in front of an audience.

His live painting exhibit, called Movement in the Right Direction, opens Friday (Aug. 23) at the historic Sovereign House gallery, located at 7 West River St. in Bronte.

During each day of the exhibit, except for opening night, Swiatek will paint a new piece of art.

The exhibit will incorporate the importance of movement and rhythm in music directly into his paintings.

He will select the right music and musician to influence each piece he’s working on.

“I’ve decided to title the exhibition Movement in The Right Direction because I’ve come to a point in life where I have to follow my passion and now is the perfect time to do so,” Swiatek said, in a news release.

Earlier this year, Swiatek painted live on Breakfast Television and donated the finished painting to a viewer as a giveaway prize.

With exhibit, Kamil Swiatek takes item off “bucket list”

Oakville artist Kamil Swiatek has taken a lot of time and effort on his art and is now presenting his first ever solo art exhibit.

The exhibit, by the way, is item 69 on his bucket list. It opens Friday (July 13) at Sovereign House.

“It’s been 10 years in the making, and it all seems like a dream,” the 28-year-old said in a press release. “It’s amazing what a person can accomplish when they pour their heart and soul into their passion.”

Swiatek has been painting since childhood, though he has never shown it publicly. Several years ago, he made a decision to do so while standing atop a mountain in his native Poland.

“On the mountaintop, I realized that this is something that I wanted to do for the rest of my life,” he said. “Whenever I paint, all time stops and I’m able to dive into my spirit, giving everything I have.”

Hi everyone!

You're all invited to my 2nd Art Exhibit that is happening now (June 3 - June 15) at the Sovereign House in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. I am displaying 3 of my paintings along with my prints to help the Bronte Historical Society.

Two paintings are new from this year, including 1 which has not yet been seen by the public (my web-site) and 1 from a few years back.


Admission is free and I will be at the gallery from 1pm-4pm this Sunday as an artist sitting in and looking after the place.
